Oh the Places You’ll Go Giveaway Hop

Welcome to the third annual Oh! the Places You’ll Go Giveaway Hop, hosted by The Kids Did It and The Mommy Island.

While the theme of this hop is back to school, the name of this hop was inspired by a Dr. Seuss book, titled Oh, The Places You’ll Go. While it may not be one of his more famous books, the cover is certainly in the classic Seussian style.

But Dr. Seuss, or Theodor Seuss Geisel (his real name) was not just a children’s book author. He was also an editorial cartoonist during World War II. Those cartoons have also been turned into a book, Dr. Seuss Goes to War. The style may be the same, but the themes are very different.

  11. “What’s the next place you’re going to go (in real life or virtually or by armchair travel)? Oh, I go virtually to all sorts of places with Google Streetview–I just looked at some of the pictures in that museum in Rio that burned down, and there’s another museum in Rio with similar stuff that didn’t burn down, and you can look all around inside the non-burnt-down museum!

  20. I am heading to Wisconsin to visit my mom for a while my hubby stays home and directs workers to replace our flooring!

  42. I have been going to my son and daughter-in-laws house in Wisconsin a lot over the summer to go swimming with them and my grandson too. It has been a great summer!

  60. My sisters and our husbands are taking my Mom to Destin, FL this month for her 90th birthday.

  64. This year we did an Alaskan cruise. We are in the early planning stages of next year’s trip, and we’re considering England, the pacific coast, or Hawaii.

  67. My next trip will probably be Minnesota to see family for the holidays, but I’d love to thru-hike the Appalachian Trail!

  69. We aren’t planning any travels just yet, but I am hoping to take my kids to Legoland or Disney in the next year or so.

  84. My husband’s parents gave us their older RV and I’m working on fixing it up right now. I’m hoping we can go to several national parks around northern Mississippi in the fall.
