This week it looks like my cup runneth ridiculously over, doesn’t it? Tor sent me an eARC for the next book in L.E. Modesitt’s Recluce series, because I love his Imager Portfolio. The only problem is that I’ve never read the Recluce series. I just never got a round tuit. It’s time to rectify that, so I started picking up the previous books in the series. I may not get to them until next year, but now I have most of them, with more on the way. I feel so much better! (But there are so many covers that I’m not including them all in the graphic – it made a TERRIBLE mess!)
Does anyone else do that? Get an urge to read a long-established series and just have to track down every book before even thinking of starting? I know I’m a completist, but sometimes I worry a bit about just how many bookish obsessions I’ve take up. What about you?

I have been known to seek out an entire series just because I picked up a book without realizing it belonged to a series. I want to read everything 🙂
Great haul this week! I also got my hands on the upcoming Sophie Barnes novel and am looking forward to it. Enjoy all of these!

The first one in the Sophie Barnes series was just SO GOOD. I can’t wait to start this one.
But yeah, I’ve gone and backfilled series when I jump into the middle. Recluce is a series I always meant to read, but never got round to. This time, hopefully.

I have never ordered an entire series at once but I have been known to order a back series when jumping in halfway through. On other notes, how do you keep this many books straight- I think I would cry if I added that many books to my shelves in one week.

As far as straightening goes, I mostly get ebooks. We ran out of space a LONG time and several moves ago for this many print books. And for the ebooks I have to review, I keep a calendar like a to-do list. Not that I do them all in time, but it’s a way of organizing the mass. Or is that mess?

I don’t necessarily have to have all the books, bit more and more I’ve been waiting to start series until all the books are out. Happy reading!
It is so frustrating waiting at the end of a cliffhanger for the next book to arrive. And if it takes too long – one forgets bits. Occasionally important bits. Thanks for stopping by and happy reading to you, too!

Sounds like you’re about to have an L.E. Modesitt Jr. reading fest! I’ve never actually read any of those; I probably should give ’em a try sometime. Enjoy!
My STS.
I definitely do, but I’m not sure when. I love his Imager Portfolio, but the man does not write short books. Ever. They’re all great while I’m in them, and I almost never want the book to end, but it’s a LOT of pages to look forward to.

I received The Over Neath as well and it looks like an interesting read. Lots of good books here so I hope you enjoy them!
